Blast Injury

Patient is an African American male wounded who has sustained a blast injury. She was on foot patrol along a street in an urban area, when an IED exploded near her. She has suffered a right leg amputation and right sided pneumothorax. Participant starts case next to patient, who is having difficulty breathing. Participant must identify all wounds and recognize asymmetrical chest rise. Participant must perform a needle decompression, apply a tourniquet to R leg, and give a dose of antibiotics through an IO.
