Dual Patient

The patients are two wounded soldiers in an urban area suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. Patients were passenger in a humvee when an IED was triggered and rolled the humvee. A soldier from the unit is standing nearby and can give further history. Participant starts case next to the two patients who were extracted, and must quickly assess both before determining who needs more immediate care. One patient is somewhat concussed but otherwise relatively uninjured, and one is more critically injured. The participant must examine and use their portable ultrasound to identify a pneumothorax and free abdominal fluid in the more injured patient. The participant must radio for evacuation for the critical patient instead of just waiting for the nearest Forward Surgical Team to arrive.
