Entrapment

Vehicle head-on collision with two entrapped soldiers quickly requiring extraction. One soldier has minimal injuries and is pulled to safety. Second soldier has a pinned/crushed leg and is unable to be moved, requiring a field amputation prior to extraction.

 

Learning Objectives:

1. Recognize entrapment.
2. Perform extrication of first soldier.
4. Perform proper field amputation on second soldier – IM/IV sedation, procedure.
5. Complete appropriate care and extrication of second solder.
