Penetrating Trauma

Patient is a wounded soldier in an urban area suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Patient was on patrol when his team was ambushed. The assailant fled the area and the location is now secure. He has sustained a gunshot wound to the right chest, right axilla, and right leg. The patient is unstable. Participant starts case next to patient, who is having difficulty breathing. Participant must perform a blood sweep, identify all wounds, and recognize asymmetrical chest rise. Participant must place a chest tube, tourniquet to R leg, and foley to axillary wound, in addition to applying non-compressible hemorrhage treatment and administering blood products.
