Scenario Description

The patient presents to the clinic with altered mental status. Perform a history, exam, and appropriate assessment. Develop a differential diagnosis, perform testing to confirm or rule out possible emergent conditions, and arrange transport to the next level of care if appropriate.

– Evaluate a patient suffering from cold-related illness

– Obtain an appropriate history, including pertinent positives and negatives related to the chief complaint

– Develop a differential diagnosis based on the history and physical exam

– Perform indicated point-of-care testing to inform a potential diagnosis
