Jesus Garcia is a 28-year-old Hispanic male with a history of ulcerative colitis. He was directly admitted with dehydration after undergoing a partial colectomy with creation of a transverse colostomy 15 days ago. Jesus’ girlfriend reports that he has resisted participation in colostomy care. During this scenario, learners must manage colostomy care while educating and providing emotional support to the patient.
