Scenario Description

This Simulated Patient Encounter maps to Scenario PED 08 – Tran Meng – Dehydration – Infant – Specimen Collection Catheterization on the Elsevier Evolve Platform

Tran Meng, a 7-month-old Vietnamese American male, was brought to the emergency department and his mother reported that he has been lethargic and has refused to eat for the past 24 hours. Tran was admitted to the pediatric unit for rehydration, nutritional consult, social services consult, and urinalysis with culture and sensitivity. During this scenario, learners must prioritize and implement nursing interventions for an infant.
