School Nurse—Administration Conflict Resolution

In partnership with: George Mason University

Book Demo

Scenario Description

This simulation takes place in a school administrative setting with no requirement to provide clinical care. This simulation is a seated single-player experience. Learners must utilize their conflict resolution skills to navigate two confrontations. The first is an aggressive colleague entering the learner’s office and demonstrating combative behavior. The second is a discussion between parents seeking non-FDA-approved treatment with school district leadership present. If learners do not manage the conversation well, the situation will escalate, causing parents to become increasingly upset and resistant to adjusting their expectations for their child’s care. Learners will demonstrate competency by using effective de-escalating communication that will help learners become better advocates for school nursing.

Learning Objectives

1. Utilize conflict resolution skills in challenging situations.
2. Diffuse a situation on the spot.
