Scenario Description

In this scenario, learners will treat multiple patients from a mass casualty event: an explosion at a cafe followed by shooters firing into a crowded street. The scene is divided into hot and warm zones. QRT teams from EMS/Fire/Police/Defense will enter the scene to perform triage. As a mass casualty case, there are multiple victims that require care. Learners must prioritize the triage patients and provide care in an effective and timely manner while working together with their team throughout the scenario.

Learning Objectives

– Display verbal awareness of scene safety during a mass casualty incident
– Wear appropriate PPE when triaging mass casualty victims
– Prevent hypothermia, poisoning, and additional injuries during a mass casualty event
– Recognize immediate life threatening conditions and perform appropriate life saving interventions in mass casualty victims
