David Montanari is a 19-year-old male who suffered a burst fracture and underwent a spinal fusion surgery. He currently has no sensation or movement below the nipple line and is bed bound. The patient is frustrated about his condition and refuses postoperative interventions, including pain medication and use of the incentive spirometer. During this scenario, learners must assess and manage care for this postoperative patient.
