Scenario Description

In this skills module the learner will practice scrubbing, gowning, and gloving. They will learn to gown themselves without assistance and with assistance. They will also need to assist the surgeon with gowning and gloving.

Learning Objectives

1. Prioritize and administer medications safely to multiple patients while considering patient-specific assessment factors.
2. Apply standardized, evidence-based safety processes by utilizing bar-code medication administration (BCMA), electronic health records (EHR), and the rights of medication administration to minimize errors.
3. Demonstrate effective communication with patients and the healthcare team.
4. Analyze prescribed medications by recognizing their indications, contraindications, and potential adverse effects.
