Scenario Description

A 55 year old male presents with a complaint of neck pain. He has had pain, tingling and numbness in bilateral hands for several years. Today he started to note loss of bladder control. Patient will want to schedule an MRI for next week when he is not as busy. If emergent MRI/referral is not done the patient will suffer from permanent neurologic disability.

Learning Objectives

1. Perform a general history and physical evaluation.
2. Plan appropriate additional diagnostic tests as indicated by examination findings (confirm or rule out).
3. Evaluate examination and diagnostic results to determine the pathology (diagnostic impression).
4. Evaluate appropriate course of treatment options.
