Scenario Description

Riley is a young patient who is experiencing agitation while in the emergency department. The case will revolve around managing their agitation through team-based approach.

Learning Objectives

1. Recognizes signs of escalation and risk for physical violence/harm.
2. Activates appropriate emergency response.
3. Identifies and demonstrates team roles and responsibilities.
4. Improves communication skills with all team members including maintaining control of the scenario, sharing their mental model, closed-loop communication, delegating roles, resource utilization, and identification of situations requiring extra assistance.
