Isabella Burgel is an 18-month-old Hispanic female with Down syndrome who presented to her pediatrician’s office with poor feeding, tachycardia, and tachypnea. She was directly admitted to the pediatric unit where she was diagnosed with acute congestive heart failure secondary to a ventricular septal defect. During this scenario, learners must prioritize and implement nursing care for this child.
