Scenario Description

A 45-year-old woman with neurofibromatosis type 1 presents to their chiropractor with low back pain. The learner will perform a patient history and then a complete range of motion, palpation, orthopedic, and neuro exam. During the testing process, the learner will discover that the patient has been having worsening pain over a few months, has urinary incontinence, and finds they have left foot drop. The learner will develop a differential diagnosis and appropriately order an MRI and will view these images in the EMR from which they can diagnose the patient with a spinal tumor.

– Perform a history and physical for a patient presenting with low back pain
– Develop a differential diagnosis for a patient presenting with low back pain
– Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests for the findings on history and physical examinations
